Apartments in the Black Forest
MODERN APARTMENTS
A little context to the house
The Muggelhaus is a historic half-timbered house from the year 1724, home to the restaurant “Muggelcaf” and three apartments, fittingly named “Muggelapartments”. The name derives from the so called Muggelbruck, a bridge from the 17th century, directly next to the house. Found beneath the bridge is the Kinzig, a river flowing from Loßburg into the Rhein.
We have fundamentally renovated the entire house over many years, always taking care to preserve its rustic charm and historic features. In this way we have kept the original architectural style by working with sustainable, original materials. Through the large amounts of old wood and the warm, natural stones, we have kept the cosiness of this Black Forest building to an optimum. Building materials such as wood, sandstones and clay, which we were able to preserve for the most part, ensure a perfect indoor climate. Of course, during the renovation we adapted the house to the needs of the 21st century and combined history with the latest technology, equipment and cleanliness. We chose each piece of interior design and furniture with love, restored old pieces, creatively converted and carpentered ourselves.
We are very much looking forward to your visit to the Muggelhaus and would like to help you get rid of your everyday stress as soon as you arrive. Please contact us if you have any questions. We hope to welcome you to the Muggelhaus soon!
“Great little black forest Village with the beautiful river just behind the accommodation. Walk to the brewey tour and monk museum. Walk to supermarket and bakery and use your own kitchen. Closeby very good restaurants are the German style pub below with great local beer and classic large German dishes. Also good Italian restaurant across the road.”
“Beautiful, comfortable, great location. Sauna was a plus too! Close to great beer and great restaurants, although if you want to cook there is a full kitchen too. We spent the evening after dinner on the terrace.”
“Top location in a cute little town with Monastery/local beer brewery. Fashionable apartment with private sauna. Good food at the bar downstairs. The owner made everything so easy for us, also let us charge our electric car in the private parking. Will definitely come back!”
“Stayed here on the way back to the UK from Italy and only wish we had more time here. We are a family of 5 and the accommodation was just perfect, clean, spacious and has everything a traveler needs. The bar and restaurant downstairs with good food and drink was also a welcome addition to our stopover. Trying to find a way to return to the region and explore the Black Forest a little more, will definitely stay at Muggelhaus.”
